Planet NYC reports on environmental sustainability in our city. It looks at New York’s natural systems, as well as policies and practices needed to make it a healthier place for its people – and for the planet. We hope Planet NYC will be informative and fun to read.

It is written and edited by Len Maniace, an award-winning journalist and corporate-communications professional who specializes in environmental, science and medical issues. Len has worked as executive editor for Elsevier, a publisher of science and medical journals; a publicist and media advisor for Monteiro and Company. a book-marketing firm; a senior writer and an editor with The Journal News, the Gannett daily in New York’s Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties; and at the New York Post.
He is president of the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, a civic/environmental nonprofit organization, where he leads its environmental programs and marketing efforts.
